In May and early June, the Wat leeft? campaign took part in several events for the first time.

The first event took place on 17 May during the Waasserfest at the Öewersauer Nature Park in Toodlermillen. The Wat leeft? campaign had the opportunity to showcase itself at the SIDEN stand. Throughout the day, visitors were able to explore the theme of water from different angles – in a fun, creative and interactive way. Clea had brought along her pins and pens, whilst roll-ups helped to showcase the campaign. Ronny and Danièle were on hand to explain to visitors the right actions to take regarding wastewater. The Water Management Authority was also represented with a stand. Visitors were able to test their knowledge and find out whether they knew the right things to do to protect water. Clea would like to extend its warmest thanks to SIDEN and Naturpark Öewersauer for this wonderful opportunity and for their excellent collaboration.
On Saturday 6 June 2026, two events were on the programme. SIDERO attended the launch of the ‘Ici commence la mer / Hei fänkt d’Mier un’ initiative in Useldange. On this occasion, visitors were able to learn how the sewerage network and wastewater treatment plants work. This event was organised by the Environment Committee of the municipality of Useldange, in collaboration with the Lions Club and the youth organisation LEO. This initiative aims to raise public awareness of the fact that anything thrown into sewers or storm drains can eventually end up in our waterways and ultimately in the seas and oceans (What’s in the drains? Information event organised by the municipality of Useldange with Sidero (6 June 2026) – RTL Luxembourg).

On the same day, the SIACH wastewater treatment plant in Pétange opened its doors to the public to mark its 30th anniversary. Naturally, Clea and the campaign were also in attendance. In addition to her pens and pins, Clea had even brought along her new, stylish mugs this time. Visitors could take part in the ‘Wat leeft?’ quiz on a tablet right there and then, and find out whether they knew the right things to do when it comes to wastewater. The many fruitful discussions and the interest shown by visitors demonstrated that water and wastewater protection is a subject of public concern and that the campaign is generating a great deal of curiosity and openness.
